This 18kt white gold ear cuff carried 12 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 0.04 ct. A cuff does not go through the ear. It clips onto the outer cartilage and is worn without a piercing, even several at once next to an earring you already have. Each stone measures just under half a millimetre and was set individually by hand. Made in Munich, sold for €550.

Can a comparable cuff be made?
Yes. The shape and stone setting can be taken up again, in yellow or rose gold too. Tell me where on your ear it should sit and I'll adjust the curve.
Do I need a piercing for it?
No. The cuff holds onto the cartilage of the outer ear by gentle tension. It can be carefully opened or pressed closer so that it sits securely without leaving a pressure mark.
Is solid gold worth it for such a small piece?
Especially then. Ear jewellery rests against the skin all day and gets bent every time you put it on. Gold-plated pieces lose their coating at exactly these points first. Solid 18kt gold has no layer that can wear off.
