This Paperclip bracelet in 18kt yellow gold comes in five sizes, from XS to XL. The paperclip shape borrows the link of an office paperclip: elongated oval links instead of round ones. Is the bracelet solid or hollow?
Solid. Hollow links are common in gold jewellery because they need far less material for the same look. They dent more easily, though, and can hardly be repaired. This bracelet is solid throughout.
Which size fits me?
Measure around your wrist with a tape measure and send me the number. A bracelet should have about a finger's width of room, otherwise it cuts in when you bend your wrist.
How does solid gold differ from gold-plated or vermeil?
Gold-plated and vermeil are coatings on a base metal, usually silver or brass. The layer is a few micrometres thick and wears away over the years. Solid 18kt gold is 75 per cent fine gold all the way through. It cannot wear away, and it keeps its material value.
