This 18kt white gold ring carried an Australian parti sapphire of around 1 ct in green and yellow, framed by 44 brilliant-cut diamonds. Parti sapphires show several colour zones within a single crystal, a pattern that forms in the rock during growth as the chemical environment changes. The main source is Queensland in Australia. Because heat treatment would even out the zones, these stones stay untreated. Made in Munich, sold for €2,800.
Green and yellow like a spring morning. The parti sapphire is unique.

Frequently asked questions
Can a comparable ring be made?
Yes. The setting and the circle of diamonds can be taken up again, in a different ring size too. The parti sapphire would be a different stone, since no two parti sapphires are alike. I agree the colour pattern and size with you beforehand.
What is a parti sapphire?
A sapphire with two or more colour zones in one crystal, typically green, yellow and blue. Every stone shows a different pattern. Two identical parti sapphires do not exist.
Is the stone treated?
No. With single-colour sapphires, heat treatment is industry standard. With parti sapphires it is out of the question: the colour zones would blur, and the stone would lose its value.
